lol pwnd...I knew what you were up to....getting moved in is not an 8 hour thing--it takes LOTS of time (and energy)...and then ...if you havent finished the bed room yet--another hour to find, the sheets, the pillows...etc....but you sleep really well the first night due to the extra exertion and being just plain tired......but its soooo nice to sleep in your own place the first night!
and then wake up the next morning and see boxes and boxes and .....well you get the idea.

hope moving in is going well. ...dont have an apartment warming gift, but its the thought that counts?

lol I actually slept like complete crap the first night here. But that is because I moved from a quiet country home to an apartment right next to a main route. So there is a lot more noise at night. Slept a lot better the second night though. Was so tired from the first night lol. Plus I did a lot of my moving in on Saturday, but didn't stay because the power wasn't on and it was like 100+ degrees outside, thus 100 degrees inside. So ya, but I have pretty much everything unpacked and put away. Still missing some stuff that I need to find... Thought my bro had it but he says he doesn't.

I'm just glad to have my internet back tbh. These past 2 and a half days without it have been torture... Had to get my AT&T DSL set up because, believe it or not, it is better than what the local cable provider offered. Screw you Mediacom.

oy 2 WHOLE days without the internet....I go on vacations and and happy to be away from it for as long as possible (4 days was the last one).

and I am the end of 6 kids...so having my own place was ... a breathe of fresh air (not having to share a room with at least one sister--heaven!!!)...and street noises never really bothered me ....but yeah your 2nd night was more like a first night then .

and yeah--I am still looking for stuff that others 'helped' me move---years later

you have a choice of cable companies!!! wow...thought that that one whom shall remain called 'the cable company' was the only one left.....and I wouldnt get my dsl from them if they were the last choice! (so what happens when your cable goes out???? now you have no internet and they also offer phone service--so no phone either....not gonna happen here....currently my dsl company is better than any previous one I had, so outside of a few early morning outages--gee I am the ONLY person who is on the internet in the am I guess--they do ok).

glad things are getting worked out for you....and its supposed to be a wee bit cooler this week--or so they say.

I don't have a choice of cable companies. The only one in town is Mediacom and it is far worse than Comcast. I do have a choice of satellite TV providers though and a choice of internet providers, AT&T DSL vs Mediacom "broadband". And the not having internet for 2 days was tough because I needed it to check emails for school information and what not.

Thanks azzer. Maybe I'll post pictures of it. But I probably won't. I'm lazy like that.

Ya, I believe I have the cable company you won't name at my parents and my sister has Mediacom at her house. Trust me. It is FAR worse than the unnamed one.

Pretty much. But I'll live. I'll spend most of my time at work anyways. So whatever.

I was unaware that there could be something worse--I feel for you.

and
hubby twisted my arm...we went out to see harry potter ...an early show (and we still had some free tickets)...so well, its very action packed, if you read the books it makes sense--hubby says even if you have not its still good (the ugly guy is trying to kill off the kid with the glasses---)....even if you dont know who everyone is.

I still stand by my -never go to movie theaters-- since I am not deaf (yet) and the little kid sitting in front of us got bored and started crying--his dad had to take him out (and this was during one of those talking scenes--where you want to hear whats being said)...the floors are sticky---yeah, nothing does seem to change. (if they play the movie a weeee bit louder I could have probably just stayed in the parking lot). But he wanted to see it--I believe that I have the patience now to wait for dvds to come out for just about any movie I wish to see from now on. (and not have to get a bottle of advil to deal with the headache from the volume)....

then we went out for dinner--and over ate ...(though I now have lunch and dinner for the next day or so from the leftovers )

I rarely ever go to theaters, Harry Potter was the first movie I went to see in over a year...and I'll probably go see it again this weekend. But I'm a huge fan of the books and once I stopped going into the movies expecting them to match the books I like them much better. I rarely ever watch movies (or TV) at all, though, I don't generally find sitting around watching things a very fun form of entertainment; I get bored very quickly most of the time and decide to do something else.

Been a bit busy - was hired by one of my friends to design the invitations for his wedding. Did a total of twelve roughs, they've been narrowed down to five and I did a few adjustments, I'm just waiting on them to make their final decision so I can start printing them.

If I have TV, I'll watch a fair amount of it just because of sports and stuff. But with starting work in the next couple of weeks, I won't be home much to watch TV except at night and on the weekends... Dunno if I can justify a 2 year agreement for that when I might not even be in the same apartment next year.

I have been finding less and less programing I wish to even think about watching on tv...so not having one for me would not be the end of the world (it would make it harder to check the weather and some local news--and watch rerererererereruns of things like mash, bones and house).
On vacations I only turn it on for the weather ....
so no tv...no problem.
(pwnd if you have internet you can watch on your computer anyways).

Ya, that was what I was thinking as well cosy. Most of the shows I watch I can either download from the internet or watch them online. So really, I'm not missing much besides the occasional sport games. And even then, if I get the local channels even without a cable box, then I can still see those games. So I'm in pretty good shape without it.

yep not much left---watched that falling skies thing (hubby wanted to see it)...after watching the first episode I said it wasnt worth watching--took hubby the whole season to figure it out ....the LACK of programing is keeping me on my computer playing gw more than anything else (ok that and the weather).

at least we have had a few cooler days---

Cooler days? Where?!?!?! It has been 90 and above the past two weeks or more... Supposed to be 82 as a high today. It is 82 now and it feels like, 86. Ohhh boy! So much better. >.> Probably will get up to 88 today and feel like 94...

I saw part of a Falling Skies episode. Turned it off because it just looked like garbage.

It is supposed to cool down this week... Just have to make it through the next day or two. ATM, it is 85 and feels like 90. Even after it just rained for a while... /sigh

Well Mediacom came and turned off the free cable I was getting... Now I have to decide if I want to do the Basic Cable for $28 a month or just say screw TV? Satellite is out because of their stupid 2 year contracts...
